If you sit in in just about any swing jam session, chances are good that you will play the song “Sweet Sue, Just You” at some point. The song was written in 1928 by Victor Young and Will Harris and became a pop hit and then a jazz standard. Almost from the beginning fretted instrument players took to it in a big way and some of the best recordings of the song were done by players like the mandolinist Dave Appolon, the Argentine guitarist Oscar Aleman and Django Reinhardt, who recorded the song more than half a dozen times.
