Hello I have a Flatiron x braced F5,Montana,made opinion on Gibson tone Bar F5 v and x braced mandos I say the X brace has a louder chop, what ya say? dc:mandosmiley:

I must retrack my statement, I dont mean the new F5V, talking about the spirit Vs made in Montana dont want to offend any of the Gibsons from Nashville! dc:grin:

X braced mandolins do not have a louder chop because they are X braced. There are way too many things involved in developing a good chop to limit it to just a single item such as tone bars vs x bracing. It is only one thing in the whole chain and it is impossible to make generalities such as that without a LOT more information. They are a bit different tonally, but even that is partially due to a lot of other things than just the bracing.
