That is so fine! I've heard he'll be in Owensboro for the birthday party, I'm really looking forward to that.

Ramona Jones was in there too. I believe, in that session does Ramona's Favorite. A medley of Chinkypin, Angelina Baker, and Ragtime Annie. Yesir, too late for Benny Martin (Big Tiger) I heard that fiddle lick from John i knew he was doing Benny before he said. Those two were close.
Forgive my spelling, but the Gaither's and Buddy Spichter right behind Mr. Baker.

Sunday, March 13, will be the tenth anniversary of Benny Martin's passing. I think I heard John H. add "if you can hear me" in his little tribute.

Isn't that the great Gene Wooten playing dobro in the band backing up John? I think I saw Leroy Troy as the camera panned around too--I see him on the Marty Stuart Show on RFD TV these days.

Thanks for posting the videos!!

I remember meeting Gene Wooten (r.i.p.) when he played with the Osborne Bros. at Sunset Park. He had his solo release and signed a copy for me. Gene was a real class act.

Very cool, thanks for sharing this. Great version of Jerusalem's Ridge on that 2nd link. I've never played it myself, but that inspired me to try and pick it out!

I looked up the "Grassroots to Bluegrass" DVD set that this was pulled from, does anyone know if it's really worth the $120?

This clip is from country's Family Reunion on RFD TV, a fantastic series with stars of country and bluegrass. John Hartford does a great version of The Boys From North Carolina in this episode.
