View Full Version : Replacement rosewood saddle source?

I've got three 40's through 53 Gibsons with very worn saddles. Does anyone know of a source for good quality rosewood saddles that would be a drop-on replacement? Failing that, I'd take a recommendation for a complete rosewood bridge. For ebony, I know where to get good bridges, but I'm hoping to keep the original look. It seems like all the reliably high-quality bridges are ebony, it's been the standard for so long.

Thanks!

Joe, you have hit upon the very back-up plan I had in mind!

i would think any guy that can make a Loar style bridge out of ebony can copy a rosewood 50's style bridge. They are not the same shape so would likely need one to go by to match it in rosewood. I would retain your bottoms.

Hello Schlegel,

As it turns out, we have made traditional, Loar Era Style mandolin bridges out of various woods through the years. As it turns out, we have rosewood saddles, and entire bridges in stock. Give us a shout, if you think we can help you out.
