Does anybody know what this is worth. It is Brazilian Rosewood. And the sound is terrific..

I doubt this is worth much in North America. In France, it might be another story. JTL was a shop that seemed to crank out a number of interesting instruments. I have a very similar mandolin stamped "Euterpe". The back and sides on mine look like mahogany.

Thanx for your response Jim. It is my understanding that JTL models are highly sought after by irish musicians...

That is good to know. Mine is in pretty good shape. Just a few small cracks and needs new strings. I should string it uop and see how it sounds.

Jim, I didn't know that you were Irish. Welcome to the 'other' brotherhood.....

Irish in spirit, to be sure. That music does get my blood flowing.

There is one of these in my neck of the woods on CL. I think it is listed as historic.
The listing seems to be gone maybe someone has bought it but is was a Phebe.

For you information, I found a catalog page from a 1907 JTL catalog picturing a Phebe mandolin.
I have one pretty much like this, art noveau, with paintings of flowers in the back.
