Danish violin player Sven Asmussen is 95 today. I don't know if he is still playing, but he had a concert here in Oslo less than five years ago.

Many happy returns to Svend. His work is nice, his LP with David Grisman is an inspiration.

They ran an article on Svend in the Wall Street Journal not that long ago...I believe it said he was still playing.

Wow. Claude Williams, Stephane Grappelli, Johnny Frigo, Howard Armstrong, and Svend ... all great swingin' violin players whose careers lasted well past the age of 80. Too bad about Smith and Venuti...
