Hi All, I have a truss rod that is buzzing pretty good, I thought somewhere along the way I heard the cure was to inject foam into the cavity, is this correct and if so what kind of foam? Thanks for any help.

Before you try foam, have you tried just tightening the truss rod a very slight amount--not so much that it actually adds relief to the neck, but just enough so it makes contact with the truss rod slot in the neck? Sometimes, when the truss rod is completely slack, it will rattle around. If you bump the neck with the side of your palm, do you hear it clunk?

Try just taking the slack out of it. If that doesn't work, then you may have to resort to another option. Might as well try this method first.

Hey Crawdad, thanks alot for the advice, you were dead on the money. The nut was loose on the truss rod, put just a little tension on it and no more rattle! Thanks a million!

Wonderful! For once, my hunch was right. I'm glad it worked out...no muss...no fuss!
