I've read a few suggestions for alternate ways to "stick" a D. Markey pickup on mandolins. Some have warned about hurting the finish. I have a Coombe that is oil farnished and french polished. Any thoughts on the best option? Preferably something that can be removed easily?

Thanks

Has the finish had a long enough time to cure?

I used Schertler's pickup on my varnished A4, with out any problems ..
the varnish was applied in 1922 ..

Kneaded Rubber from the office supply shops , such as 'blue-tack',
has been found to be a reasonable substitute
for the more costly Swiss formulated Schertler putty.. ~o)

It was made in 2006 and I just picked it up from Cotten's in Nashville. I saw the thread seconds after I posted talking about the same thing today, but not related specifically to this kind of finish. I'll check out the blue-tack. Thanks
