I picked up my mandolin from Mike Holmes in late January. We had a great visit, and I got to bring home my new F-style. I have had a hard time putting it down. Last week's snowstorm allowed me a few days at home----snowbound never sounded so good. Thanks, Mike.

Congratulations Patrick! Beautiful mandolin.
I particularly like the stylized f-holes and the appearance of the back.
What tonewoods were used to make her?
I'm sure we'd all love to hear a clip or two...:)
Again, congratulations and enjoy!

Thanks all.

Ed, the woods are all what is spec'd on Mike's website. Adirondack red spruce on top, red maple sides, and back. (Well, I'm pretty sure the back is red maple, now that you ask... When I visited Mike back in August, he had that piece of figured maple that became the back---it was just spectacular, even sitting in his shop, untouched. I'm pretty sure he said it was still red maple---kinda stopped listening there for a while. I should find out...) Segmented F-holes and block inlays were custom; otherwise, I let Mike do his thing.
