I've done a lot of research and found the Kentucky 855 to be the best mandolin in the price range. Everywhere I look it's "coming soon," "out of stock," etc. Is there a place where there is at least one in stock that I can purchase new for a fair price? Just in case is there a alternative to the 855 in the price range that is just as good if not better. I'm getting into blue grass so want an F-Type (non electric). I'd like a color similar to the 855 the red sunburst or regular orange to black sunburst. The highest I could go is $1300.

Hi Ryan,

The Kentucky's are extremely hard to come by right now. There is consistently a waiting list for dealers. I have them on order with no idea when to expect them. I would imagine there are some out there though. :)
As far as alternatives, everything from the KM-675 up to the 855 is pretty close to the same quality. The Eastman 515 and the Loar LM-600, and 700 are also options in this price range.
