I'm new to mandolin play, but want a good mando. I really like Flatirons. PLease inform me, What the differences are for F5 series of Performers, Festivals and Artists? What are the prices pre and post Gibson?

I have a 1983 signed by carlson flat iron mando a5-1 model and I have to say, if you can get one of these pre gibson jobs' you will have a little treasure. Mine plays very well and sounds really fine. I must say, it will stand up against any of the so called "big boys "of the mandoline industry any time. You don't have to go expensive to sound good. Just shop around a bit . Good luck to you
