I am getting ready to do the binding on the peghead. (F5)
This is probably a stupid question, because I know it is opinion, however... My last mandolin I used the Ivoroid/Black/Ivoroid, looking at the peghead photos in the "photo" catagory I notice the older Gibsons had just plain Ivory binding.
Is there any proper etiquette for the headstock binding, depending on the body binding?
My body is I/B/I and I laminated a black line on the neck binding, so I feel I should continue with the black line on the headstock, but holding the two bindings up the the peghead I like the plain Ivory better. So any opinions on the etiquette of this, or is it "anything goes" thanks JD

Build your mandolin to suit yourself, if somenone else is buying build to suit the buyer.

My personal opinion is continue on with the same binding you used on the body.

Keep on Pickin'
