Well I was just wondering if there is anyone in Northern Ohio who play old time music and if they would like to jam with me and jstallard? Or might even be able to teach a little. And when I say northern ohio I mean about 30 or so miles from Columbus Ohio. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

sirmando, i don't live in the area but i will be working in Columbus beginning in mid-November through most of December. i'm working downtown at Huntington Banks. i would be interested in any OT jam sessions during the week. i will travel home to WV on the weekends.

I you're up for some WAY old time (i.e., 18th-19th centuries), I still extend the offer to bring your mandolins out to the casual meetings of the Columbus Guitar Society held from 1 pm to whenever on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Borders Books and Music at Kenny & Henderson Roads. I rarely miss and usually (i.e., almost always) bring a mandolin to play clssical music. November's meeting is off because we have a visiting guitarist giving a masterclass at Capital University (you'd be welcome there too, but we won't be informally jamming on Gervasio or Calace in November), but come on by in December 2004, January 2005, February 2005, etc.

Take a look at the NOTMAD website. (http://www.notmad.org/) You might also contact Lucy (lucyl@bgnet.bgsu.edu), who helps organize a lot of old-time related events in Northwestern OH.
