Well I am going to try this combination of strings. From Steve at acoustic music works, We can do better by starting with a GHS Ocatve mando set (PF285) which is:
44w - 32w - 22w - 12p We can add the 10p
He suggested this route because the single strings were going to cost about six dollars more a set. My question is for gdaea tuning does this seem like it will provide a good balance from one string to the next? I already figured in tension and there is a slight increase mainly because now it will be five courses instead of four. Thanks John http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I think you'll have to hear it to know for sure. Sounds like a reasonable starting point.

Thanks Bob I was wondering if there was any starting point. I just guessed and listened to Steve's suggestions. I did go to Arto's tension calculator to see the differences. Thanks john
