I recently purchased a Pomeroy A2. What a beautiful instrument! The only problem I have with it is the chunkiness of the neck. I understand the instrument was constructed to match the specks of the old Gibson A2. My question is: do any of the early 1900's A oval mandolins have a little more streamlined neck or are they all that way? Thanks, Bruce.

The 1924's I've played mostly seem to have a more slender neck than the earlier models.....I have played later models that seemed to go back to a more chunky neck profile...

Is this a newer or older Pomeroy? I had an '08 Pomeroy A4 and it had a slender, soft V profile neck, not chunky at all. I think I remember hearing that the earlier Pomeroys had chunkier necks but that the specs changed some on the later ones. Also re: the old Gibsons I seem to remember a thread here awhile back where someone was mentioning that the snakehead Gibson A's had less chunky necks - but I could be mis-remembering, so don't quote me on that one!
