Anyone have a tab or abc of the version of raggle taggle gypsie that planxty plays? (the bouzouki part, not the bagpipe, although bagpipe would be cool to)

oh that WOULD be cool! All sorts of counter-melody stuff going on as I recall... let me know if you find it....

I've really been wanting to learn more of that counter mellody style on my 'zouk.
I love playing straight mellody, but when my fiddle player is playing the lead counter mellody would sound awsome along with it.

IMHO, I haven't found a better teacher than Andy Irvine (via his recordings)... there's a lot of that on Planxty albums... many songs.

And agreed, it's much more fun to do that than double the melody! Just make sure you're not in one of those very strict trad sessions where they are not very open to harmonies...
