I have a flatiron 1N that I love to play, sounds great and fits my style very well. I don't like the frets. I have played webers and mid-mos and jimmy moons that have much larger frets and feel lots better to me.

My question is: Can I have this mando refretted with the larger frets without screwing up intonation or other problems I may not know about? Also, what is the general price for such work?

Thanks for your help.

It will probably be in the $2-300 range.

Yes, the work can be done and done right. In our shop it would be about $300.00

What might be the turnaround time? Your shop is in Nashville, no?

Thanks

I did my Flatiron Cadet with bigger wire- can't say as it was "done right" as I never did it before, but it filed flat and was fairly easy to crown the frets. The action stayed the same and it plays much better. Cost-$15
