new to group

Hello
I'm new to the group and have obtained what can be descibed as a Mandocello because of it's tuning CGDA. I am a beginner on Mando, but am a little lost on chord construction for this tuning...I believe that the chord shapes may be the same...but the chord names will be different because of the tuning. Any advice from this group would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

Welcome.
You are correct that the chord shapes are the same, but are named differently.
These (tenor) mandola chords (http://tremolo.no/english/misc/chords/tenorindex.htm) are the same shapes and names as the chords on the mandocello.
The streches for some chords may range from the difficult to the near impossible due to the longer scale of the mandocello.
The (tenor) mandola is pitched an octave higher than the mandocello.
