I'm wondering if the "A" string is wound?

Are they comparable to Thomassilk, do they have the steel A or is is wound?

D'Addario's Flatwound Mandolin Strings are now available at Elderly, suggested date in stock there is 10/22/10. Suggested retail in the news release was $29.99, their price is $13.35.

Stan now tells me the anticipated arrival date of those strings is 10/11, this Monday. Not reflected on their web site possibly until tomrrow.

Yes, The A strings are wound and this set is real nice!!!!

With all due respect Skip, they are plain. Not wound. You may be confusing them with the Flat Tops.

Sorry Ted , you are right !!! Im as mixed up as a cheese cake!! The A strings are plain.....
