Maurer Mandolin manaufacture?

Hi folks -- the following is one of the instruments in my collection - but its manufacture date is a mystery -- is this a Maurer instrument pre-Larson? It is a simple (almost primitive) model clearly impressed with the Maurer signature burnt into one of the internal ribs of the soundboard:

Mauer had instruments built by several builders including the Larson Borthers. This one wasn't built by the Larson's. It's not primitive, it's simply an inexpensive model as indicated by the number of staves in the bowl and the lack of any sort of ornamentation. This might have been considered a student model.
