Just finished this old unmarked (Chicago? possibly Oscar Schmidt-made?) bowlback mando the other day. Nice player (now) and good, precise tone. Heavier bracing means regular light strings 34w to 10 feel good on it.

Oh, and a Braz. rosewood bowl can't hurt, too. :)

Nice work. The Ford Focus of mandolins. Still a pretty good ride for the $$.
