My New Commodium

Hi All, Here's a photo of my latest instrument, a Commodium. It was built by Keith Cary (http://www.keithcary.com/Keith Cary/Welcome.html). It has a standard length mandolin neck and uses a stainless steel (unused) bedpan for its resonating chamber and a National-style cone. I've had mine for almost 2 years now and love it. It's great for pre-war blues and jug band music. Great tone! Did you get the #1 or #2 model?

Hi Fred -- I'm very happy with it. I don't know if it's a #1 or #2. I play a lot of ragtime tunes, so it's perfect for that. I've also started work on some of Rich DelGrosso's blues tunes that I got at this year's Mandolin Symposium in Santa Cruz. It took about 2 years to get, what with Keith's order backlog.
