My 1920 F4 has a serial number of 58564.
It has the original case with "LONNIE" stencilled across the top which has been on there for a very long time.
The instrument is "reputed" to have been once owned by Lonnie Johnson
Any further info would be gratefully received

Post some pixs and someone should recognize it.

Who "reputed" it to be Lonnie Johnson's? It is nice to imagine but unless you have proof of some sort it is only conjecture.

I have heard that Lonnie Johnson did play the mandolin but I have never heard any recordings or seen a picture of him holding a mandolin. Saw a picture once with him holding a violin. If any recordings exist I'd like to know how to obtain them. I think that to be able to claim that that f4 was Lonnie's you need something to back it up --like a photograph.

Not that it offers much support for Greeba's mandolin having been Lonnie Johnson's there are several references online to him being a proficient mandolin player.

No answers or pics from Greeba. Unless there is more proof we can definitely say that the case was owned by someone names Lonnie.
