My son (taterbugman here on the cafe) and I were invited to a jam at a pottery in Moline, IL on Sat. It was an open-house kind of thing w/people coming and going throughout the afternoon. Another cafe member was there as well.

When we left, the owner said, "go downstairs and pick out your compensation". So, attached is what we selected. She had a table full of small platters or mugs w/fiddles, mandos, or guitars on them that she was giving to the musicians who showed up. I grabbed the mando. I think my son wanted it... The owner didn't have to pay any of us and I told her this, but she wanted to.

Pretty cool pay, I think. She could probably sell some on the cafe, don't you think?

Yeah theyre real cool. But she'd be crazy to pay us to play there - it's our priviledge! ....Besides, I think i received much more than adequate "compensation" - http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?63869-New-to-Cafe!!
