I know there is a difference in playing an acoustic guitar versus and electric guitar as far as pressure placed on a string to produce a sound, the electric guitar being "easier" to play.

Does the same difference exist between electric mandolin, and acoustic mandolin?

Thanks in advance.

I think it is. It's much easier to vary the sound on the electric than on the acoustic. Picking pressure doesn't feel that much different for me.

When I go from playing acoustic for a while back to the electric, I have to remain conscious to lighten up a lot of the pressure on the strings, the response is much more sensitive. But great for bending notes...twang!http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
