I believe this song was written by Bill Monroe but recorded by Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerard in the 60's. Can anyone direct me to the mandolin part, either in tab or standard notation? I've lost the recording and accompanying information, but the musician who played on the recording was fabulous. Alas, as far as I know, Bill Monroe never recorded it himself. Thank you.

...the musician who played on the recording was fabulous...

And that would have been David Grisman, from the '60's Hazel & Alice LP, Who's That Knocking? Others on the recording included Chubby Wise and Lamar Grier. There's a Smithsonian Folkways CD reissue available here, (http://www.folkways.si.edu/TrackDetails.aspx?itemid=34374) and you can buy the individual track as well.

In addition to the excellent version by Hazel & Alice, there is one other, possibly better, version out there.
Tom Ewing recoded it some time ago. IIRC, I believe that Tom's version included an additional verse that the Hazel & Alice version did not have.
