No mandolin content, but I will highly recommend a TV-program called "A violin for Renaud". It is basically a program about the Cremona violin makers in general and Guarneri del Gesu violins in particular, namely Isac Stern's Guarneri for 50 years handed on to a French violinist. The program gives some interesting glimpses into the building and playing of these instruments, which I think would be great for all with a keen interest in acoustic instruments. Many of the point made in this program can also be applied to mandolins, I think, like discussions around arching, projection, colours of sound etc.The program should be available on many net-TV channels. Enjoy!
