Hiltons, VA -- From remote Isonville, Kentucky, to an international following in bluegrass music; Don Rigsby has remained true to his mountain roots and made his own mark as a powerful tenor and distinctive mandolin player. Born in 1968, Don grew up listening to early Ralph Stanley records and to the high lonesome sounds of his cousin Ricky Skaggs. Learning from those who went before him and then adding his own personal touches, he was also influenced by the late Keith Whitley - another Elliot County native. Don comes from a family and community of traditional musicians. On Saturday, June 5th, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert of bluegrass music by Don Rigsby and Midnight Call. Admission to the concert is $7 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free. ...
