Starting today, The John Hartford Stringband will be helping our friends, colleagues, and others who are suffering in Nashville. For every CD we sell from our website we will be donating one dollar toward flood relief. Thank you for helping us to help those in need. - Chris

It's great that everyone is pulling together; however I am in the UK and unable to do much. I would like to make a contribution, but I feel - as much as I would enjoy your album, and I respect your commitment - I would like to make more of a donation that just one dollar off a £15 album. Sorry. I would rather donate the $15 in total, and shall be looking for a way to do so.

Hi Chris. I completely understand that and I'm grateful that you are willing to help from such a distance. Below are some funds we have looked into. Maybe this information will help you to decide:

We are willing to help any musician whose instruments were damaged or destroyed in the floods. We are happy to do an evaluation of any instrument and help with the insurance claims in any way that we can. This is free of charge. We just want our "pickin buddies" back up and picking. Many of these instruments can be salvaged and returned to good condition again with the right care. We will do what we can.

Thanks for the Nashville Musicians link; the PayPal method makes the whole donation possible. Hope all goes well.

Thanks for doing this, Chris; I've been hearing a lot about what's going on in Nashville on the radio today, and it's pretty awful to hear about all the damage (strangely, I haven't seen too much about it on the national news, either, which in my book is a crying shame). It's good to know that people are out there working to help everyone out in the city. Bless you all!

On a side note, I heard some cuts off the "Memories of John" album on Music from Foggy Hollow last night. Good stuff!
