*whistling*

that shore is a purty mandolin

how much does that bad boy go for?

and when finally do invest in F style, does the craftsmanship of the scroll really make a difference?

If you are paying good money, then YES! Who wants a ###### scroll on a mando you pay above 2K for! If the workmanship is bad there then just think where else it could be. By the way, the scroll looks good on this one to me.

For the record again, it is not about the binding around the scroll to me, but the overall shape of the scroll.

It cost about 4000$ with a varnish and fern inlay .

A fellow in the Munier Mandolin Orchestra in Philadelphia recently purchased an almost identical Holoubek. It has a crisp, fairly bright, rich sound, with a lot of harmonic content, similar to my Apitius, which also has European woods for top and back.

Congrats on your new mando!

I've heard Bryce play that new mandolin, and it sounded great! Of course, that may have something to do with the lightening fast fingers and tone of the whippersnapper. But even when I played it with my rapidly-aging fingers I was impressed.
