I just heard that mandolin played last night at a Gibson Bros concert here in Poughkeepsie- it has a tusk (not tusq) bridge and rings like a bell. Bright, sweet tone, and in the hands of a GREAT player.

Great instruments (I have three of 'em!) and great guy. Thanks for posting this -- 'haven't been to his shop in years so I really enjoyed watching it.

Lloyd is one of the nicest people I've met. He's a great builder. His son, IIRC, isn't too bad either.

He's also a great picker--loves old time tunes. I got to play with him yesterday in fact. Sweetest fella you want to meet and you'll never guess how old he is by looking at him.

Yeah, both his sons, Don and Bill, make great instruments too.
