Here is my new mando, just arrived yesterday and I could hardly put it down last night http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I will eventually get that little area of pick wear fixed on the right, but other than that it's in great shape and sounds wonderful! Never! I've been eyeing this A-3 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10179&item=3749112889&rd=1), but other important things to take care of first.

Well, maybe MAS is never cured, but it's in remission for me ;)
And while I still have my other mando, I've decided to get that pick wear repaired. If I don't do it now, I might not be able to let it go long enough to have the work done! Big Joe at Gibson is going to make it as good as new http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Sarah, I honestly don't think I would worry about the finger wear unless there is a luthier that can just do a small burn in of color and clear. I think you would be able to spot the repair pretty easy though. I have seen repairs like that before that just seemed to stand out but I am sure that was the luthier's fault. I would probably send it to Weber if you insist on having it done. I finally gave up on worrying about the scratches on my Bush model, afterall look at Bush's mando and Monroe's!

Just got my 95 Flatiron Artist a couple days ago, and what a mandolin. I had a F5-G befoe this one, and the difference in incredible. I dont know if its the X-Bracing, or Bruce Weber's magic touch. Whatever it is, these things are the best mandos for the buck. You can pry this one from my cold dead hands.... Got me sounding like Charleton Heston....
