What does "quartz" mean in a mandolin description?

If you're referring to Breedlove's- it's a specific line of mando's. A series.

It's the entry level strata of Breedlove's line and includes both their O and K models both oval and F hole. Very good mandolins for the money.

The O shape is like an A style tear drop, and the K style is a stylized version of the F model. Their plain looks hide good tone.
