I've never seen one. I've looked for pictures. I'm sure there's not a ton out there, but if I had the cash, and the itch for a gorgeous mandocello (which may already be here), I don't know if I would be able to control what happened. Any of you have one? Or even have pictures of one?:whistling:

I wonder if they've even made one. They have it listed on their site as an option, but the picture is of the Fern mandolin, not the 'cello.
It is probably something they would only build if someone requested it. They don't appear to be cheap, the list is $7,799, but that being said a lot of work goes into making one.
There is a forum member who just bought one of the Weber Vintage A 'cellos which looks really cool.
Are you thinking about buying a mandocello? I'm going to pick up my first 'cello on Monday from Joe Mendel who built it for me. They really are cool instruments.

Look at the Weber (Sound To Earth) site, & they have a photo.of this instrument which you can enlarge. I'm not disagreeing with WALT above, but it does say MANDOCELLO re.the pics. Personally,i would expect a Fern Mandocello to look exactly like a much larger Fern Mandolin. E-mail Weber direct & ask them,
Ivan;)

Here are some pictures of a weber mandolin vs. a weber mandocello. The necks on mandocellos always look a lot longer than on a mandolin--in other words they don't take mandolin blueprints, blow them up, then build a mandocello. Most of the instruments pictured in the "mandocello" section of www.soundtoearth.com are actually just mandolins.

I had pictures of one from a store a while back, I'll see if I can find them but it was on another computer.

Ok, I figured it out. There's a Yellowstone F style cello at Canyon Musin Works in Durago. They also have a Yellostone OM. There are not pics on their site but I bet they'd send you some via email. I know they're not Ferns but wholly smokes I've played both and they're unreal. here's a link to their site; http://www.canyonmusicwoodworks.com/index.php56697

As ever Trevor at the Acoustic Music Company in Brighton (UK) has a cracking selection of instruments at the moment, including a few lovely Mandocellos. Follow this link http://www.theacousticmusicco.co.uk/index.php/mandolin-luithers/weber-mandolins.html and just scroll down to aaahhh!.... it's like the ultimate MAS fix on there.

I was looking for something else and happened to see this thread...you are right that the picture on the Fern Mandocello page is the mando. Bruce made the prototype way back (before digital cameras) and we didn't make another until this last year we got TWO orders! However both of those were customized in some way (not standard) and we did not take a picture for the website. We should have anyway I think now, but they also seem to get out of the door before I can grab them for photos. They were SO elegant looking- one had a soundhole and the sound was huge...both went to classical players I believe.
