From eBay, a refreshing example of truth in advertising (http://cgi.ebay.com/Perhaps-The-Worlds-Worst-Mandolin_W0QQitemZ290414982856QQcmdZViewItemQQptZL H_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439e14f6c8).

I can't tell if he really expects to sell the thing, or just wants to pontificate.

I bought a fiddle from this guy, I think for $70, and It was a real nice playing and decent sounding one, worth the money and he seems really nice. He wrote a letter to me about the history of the fiddle I bought, and even sent me 8 CD's of his music he's played throughout the years.

That guy has had a couple other mandolins - He seems to make reconstructive luthierie a pass time. The fact that he's being honest to the point of undercutting his own sale makes me think his other descriptions of goosed-up mandolins he's selling are probably honest appraisals. Or maybe that's the game with this one!

(a reverbolin perhaps?) a remarkably honest gambler afflicted with MAS and he still manages to come across with a sense of humour.

I enjoyed his narratives. One of his fiddle ads included a picture of the seller holding a fiddle surrounded by 20-something Fiddle champ trophies. He's just the kind of guy I'd like to buy something from, maybe a fiddle.... I'll be watching his ads, Thanks the posting Martin!
