View Full Version : Upgrade from Kentucky KM-350?

I currently am playing on a KM-350 and I absolutely love the thing. As I am slowly getting better I am thinking about eventually upgrading to a better instrument in the sub $1,200 price range and preferably an F (but a high quality A would be fine too).

after doing some searching I think I might want to stick with an A-shape, just because you can get more bang for your buck (though "The Loar" LM-600 looks like a good deal for an f-style). I will probably search around for a used instrument in good condition in my price-range and compare it to comparably priced new instruments (I am really liking the Breedlove OF/OO, which I have played once before).

There's a Weber Hyalite just gone up in the classifieds for $850, NFI on my part, just seems like a good step up mandolin for someone, especially if that someone isn't married to the idea of an F style. There's also a Breedlove OF at the Mandolin Store right now in your price range:
