Here is a link to a recent #review of Steve James' blues mandolin instructional video. It is a pretty good description of what is in the video

This is a great video. Worth the money for just entertainment - and great instruction.
But BEWARE and be sure you get the TAB and paper instruction with it.
I bought a DVD off e-bay and it ommitted the tab and instructions. I hope to have made arrangements to get them elsewhere. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Jack

If I remember right, that tape is done by Homespun. They are pretty good about selling the paper tab by itself. I had lost my tab to the Bill Monroe videos and, I think, it was $10.00 to replace it.

My main criticism of the Homespun James Blues video is the incredibly cheap paper, careless design, and inadequate text in the printed material. I have been missing my printed material for a month and suspect I threw it out thinking it was another piece of junk mail (as it appears to be).

Mike, Thanks much for the generous offer. I think a kind dealer is sending me the tab, etc. If it does not arrive, I will ask you the favor. Jack

FYI; the reviewer Rich DelGrosso wrote an awesome book about Juband mandolin.
Lotsa blues in that too. (sorry, I've said this many times before).
They compliment each other well I think.

The tab paper etc. came yesterday. It's a big help. I almost have the Boogie Walk learned. To me, that alone was worth my money.
Diving Duck Blues is a fun song. Right now, I'm doing it with vocals and harp and my wife accompanying on mando.
