Triple-tortoise binding on my Clark F5 #27. It was a cost upgrade, but very well worth it.

Some really amateur pictures of my BRW J-16. I'm going to cheat and link to some better pictures of the mandolin by the previous owner, Mandomick.

Everything is the same except I changed the tuner buttons to ebony.

Kawlija , my wooden headed banjo uke , got bound around that edge with Tortoise Binding.

of a general's from Epaulet stars . tried for nickel , but nickels are mostly copper now.

O man! I dont know which I like better: tortoise shell binding on a blond mando or the triple white/tort/white binding on a dark mando...both look awesome. Thanks for posting those pics (dang, I sure love looking at beautiful mandolins.......):mandosmiley:

Geoff - your photo of that A model you said you built last year - that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

For those of you admiring Geoff's work on the Triple iii, it is even more stunning when you hold the mandolin. Geoff was great to work with during the construction and really has a passion for his craft. It sounds better than it looks; for an instrument that is about 1 1/2 years old it is loud and gets more complex every time it is played. It's a pleasure to own that particular instrument. Dan

My Vessel has a pretty dark red finish on the back so getting enough contrast on the tortoise for a photo is not easy. This is really by design.

But Gary did get a shot of it that shows both the color and the binding.

No, that's a new mandolin that Ben has available now. He sent me pics, it's pretty. If memory serves he's asking $4,100, it's red spruce with a varnish finish.

I really like the single bound tortoise look.
