I just recieved my washburn M118SW mandolin (the new distressed model). What does everyone think of this mandolin? More importantly, what do you think of it?

That's the most important, that you love it and enjoy playing it. I've never had a chance to play one of those Washburns.

That is a very attractive instrument. Anything else you can add? Action? Bark/sustain, etc?

The action is great,it has a very deep chop! Its very lightweight, the only down fall is the neck is wider than most. All in all it is a great mandolin for the money!!!

I'm considering ordering one of these mandolins too. I like the idea of the 1-3/16" nut and the look is nice. It's hard to buy on line without trying though. The tunners look cool. Do they work well, smooth, easy to turn?
Thanks

The tuners are great very easy to turn. I took it to the local luthier to have it set up and he told me that it was a great sounding mandolin! He said after he heard mine that he might buy him one!

Received mine today. Really impressed. Has good tone and volume. Comparable to mandolins in the 1200-1400 MSRP range. I like the vintage distressed look and feel. I'd compare the tone to the "Loar LM-700vs" or Eastman 615, I also like the vintage case it comes with. Good beginner to intermediate instrument.
