Can someone recommend a good pickup or internal mic for a flattop mandolin? It's x-braced and has a floating bridge (no bridge plate).

thanks very much,
Bill

Two of the notable flat-top makers, Mid-Missouri and Tacoma, as well as some of the major archtop builders use the McIntyre Feather as thier standard pickup. The owner of Mid-Mo, Mike Dulak, let me play his personal Feather-equipped M-4 through a good acoustic amp and it sounded pretty darn good. I prefer a microphone on a stand, but if I had to use a pickup, that is the way I would go.

Best Pick-up I've used to date - and I've used them all, is the K&K.
I recently tested it against McIntyre, & PUTW with excellent results.
I'm mounting one on my Heiden.

are you using the 2 disc version that runs around 90 bucks or so? I just put K&K pure western in an old Guild D-40, and it sounded awesome. So I'm inclined to go with the K&k.

thanks
