Wow this pplace has currupted me. #My wife got me a Michael Kelly FS for christmas and was very happy and still am. #However, after playing a MK with the radiused fingerboard, I was in a pool of MAS and could not help myself. #I called up several dealers and traders and finally decided to do it. #Worked out very well though and no loss on my part because of the first purchase. #I sent my MK mandolin on its journy via priority mail. #I will be calling today to fork over 335$ for the new one with the radiused board. #I have decided on the Dragonfly II. #When all is said and done and I am over my MAS (yea right) I will happy. #Good deal for me and a nice mando to boot.
This is 10 times worse than I had with guitars. #Oh well!
Gooood day!

LOL -- been there done that... I have the Legacy Classic and I enjoy it very much. However, it will only put off MAS for a while...

Good job Deaner. It took me a few years to get a MK Firefly Flame. I love the radiused fingerboard. I love my mandolin in fact, but I still covet a high end Weber. Maybe one day...

Another one falls to the dark side of MAS. When will you take out the second mortgage? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I did nearly the same thing a few months back. After deciding I would die if I didn't get a mandolin soon, I bought a Johnson MA-120 not knowing if I'd stick with it. Less than two months passed until I bought a Breedlove Quartz, and now (three months later) I am ready to upgrade again! Too bad I don't have any more dough. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
I catch myself thinking how I will get another one by my wife, who supports my playing, but, for some reason I can't fathom, also wants to pay the bills. Ditto on the MAS is worse than GAS.

You gettin' these names, Dale? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
In the last 15 months I have purchased 4 mandolins and sold 3. Dale was involved with 5 of the 7 transactions. I'm hoping that I will settle down for awhile-famous last words!

You know what, I've only been playing 6 months and I went from a cheap Johnson mando to a Breedlove mando at Christmas. I was just thinking today about what I would do if I didn't have the much better instrument that I now have. I probably wouldn't be playing as much or as well as I do. I certainly wouldn't enjoy playing as much. My new instrument just plays and sounds so much better that I gave my old one away.
So if it makes you love to play then go get the one you want. That's my advice; ;)
