On his "Ride" album he used borrowed mandolins -- two Gilchrists and a Heiden.

Gilchrist late 90's x-braced, its a monster. Got to try it out at Rockygrass last summer.

Andy also plays/ has played a Lebeda lots on stage and some of the recordings. Never cared quite as much for that mandolin as the others, but for the price, that's perhaps a natural reaction.
