Great Beatles tune on the Butch Baldassari tribute CD. I have the melody for most of the tune but not the bridge. I was wondering if anybody worked these chords out.

I'm pretty sure it's in A

A////A////D/A/Bm/A/
A////A////D/A/Bm/E/A/
Bm///A/Bm///A/

What am I missing here (I know there's something weird with the beat count, I'm all messed up)?

I haven't tried to get to the bridge yet, but any takers on that would be welcomed.

What a great rendition, very tasteful, nothing hokey about it.

Key A

(C)You and I have (Em)memories

(Am)Longer than the (Bm)road that stretches(Bm7) out (E)ahead

(That guitar lick/chords after "We're on our way home" rocks back & forth between A-D

For guitar it's easier played capo 2 out of G-
you can get those walk down notes into Am ( Bm actually)
You can find the chords ( Beatles) here in G:

Thank you. And regarding the A-D part. It seems like the lick ("On our way home") is B-C#-D-C#. Is that how you play it?

yes, that sounds like it- the notes do follow that line.
they let the D hang, at times- between the singing parts.

Great tune!

Where I have D/C# shown, that indicates it's a D chord played, but with a C# in the bass.
similarly the Em/B is an E minor chord with a B in the bass.

A / / / A / / /
A / D / D/C# / Bm / Bm /
A / / / A / / /

A
Two of us riding nowhere
D D/C# Bm
Spending someone's hard-earned pay
A
You and me Sunday driving
D D/C# Bm E A
Not arriving on our way back home
D A
We're on our way home
D A
We're on our way home
D A
We're going home

A / / / A / / /

Two of us sending postcards
Writing letters on my wall
You and me burning matches
Lifting latches on our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

[BRIDGE]
C Em/B
You and I have memories
Am Bm E7
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead

[Breaks go over verse and bridge:
Banjo over first 4 lines of verse, Guitar over second part (we're on our way home)
Fiddle over the bridge, Mandolin over first part of the verse,
then skip the (we're on our way home) part and go straight into the bridge repeat

[BRIDGE]

Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing solo in the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere on our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

Thanks to both of you. Nice work Mr. Sausage. That will make it easier for me to introduce this song to the band I'm in. I need to try to get some of the essence of Reischman's solo.
