I am just about to aquire that 1999 Gibson A5-L from Buffalo Brothers, and I was wondering who else here has the Gibson A5-L? What styles? Tone? Main Mando? Fill me in please, thanks for your time, dy.
I pick on a 91 A5-L (Carlson). It makes me happy. I played several mandolins before buying it, and it had the best tone and feel in comparison, and I knew that right away. I'm not very good about describing the tone in words, so just know that it makes me smile.
I play in the Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra, and I pick at bluegrass jams (and anywhere I can really). That instrument is definately calibrated for bluegrass. It is my main mando.

I am thinkin of ordering a t-shirt from the Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra, that goldenrod color....I really like it. I can't recall if you all have a cd? Anyhow, this is the type of info I am looking for. The versatility of the A5 is what it is all about. Thanks, dy.
