Linda, very nice job. Can you tell us about it? Was this a scratch build or a kit? Good binding on the headstock. You should be very proud.

It's a Stewmac kit. I've been restoring old banjers for ever and wanted to try making something from the ground up. I grew up in my dad's woodworking shop, but I've never made so much as a bird house before, so I'm pretty pleased.

It's french polished, as you can certainly tell from the bad spots, but it's smooth as silk. It has LOTS of issues, but fortunately it's sounding just the way I'd hoped. It's warm and bright but not brassy or harsh. Perfect for old time, which I do a lot of. I'm ok with the "issues" since it was a first try. I'll do 'er better next time.

I used water soluble dyes, and I'm hoping it won't turn green in a year! :disbelief: But the fade from light to dark went pretty easily.
