Just got this yesterday from Robert @ Folkmusician.com. The setup he did on it is FANTASTIC! Action is amazing! I'm having a photoshoot for it Wednesday so look for more pics, but until then...

It sounds incredible. The resonance on this mandolin is unlike any I have ever heard. It rings for DAAAAAYS. I'm gonna get to my buddy's studio soon and record some little clips. He has a pretty good recording setup so hopefully it will be able to capture it. I'm hoping with some heavy playing on it the wood will really start to open up and sound even better. This is honestly a mandolin that sounds much more expensive. Thanks so much to Robert @ Folkmusician.com for all of his help and the excellent setup he did on it. It plays silkly smooth.

I played one of these in Harry West's store last week. He'd just gotten it in from an order placed long ago. It sounded really good, in a different universe than the LM-500 hanging beside it.
The neck was a little chunky. Reminded me of an old Gibson guitar. Other than that, a pretty nice little guy.

Nice looking amndo and I've heard lots of good things about them. I just can not accept the name.
When somebody asks what kind of mando due you have? do you say "I have a The Loar"

Just put some Blue builder's tape over "The Loar" on the Headstock and when they ask you what kind of great sounding mandolin you're playing, you can tell them its a Hand Carved import from Asia...if they implore you further...Tell them "The Loar" from Recording King.
