Snatched up this nice Flatiron N-1 built in 1987. It was owned by guitarist/producer Pete Anderson of Little Dog Records. Doesn't look like he played it much over the years. Probably never out of the studio.

See my album here for more photos.

Very nice. I have a Flatiron pancake mandola that I love.

I especially like the extra tuner on the treble side. :))

I especially like the extra tuner on the treble side. :))

It is really a banjo in disguise!!

That, of course, is the lock knob for adjusting the stand height. Perhaps I should photoshop it out.

I am enjoying it.

I've always liked the practicality of the pancake design. Nice one!

Use the correct gauge strings - NOT J-74s! I've found GHS A-250s to be perfect as they match the string gauges recommended for the pancake. Look on your heelblock and there should be a lable showing the recommended string gauges.

Enjoy! I love my pancake and played the heck out of it last night in a room with 18 folks!

GHS A-250's is what I put on it. Perfect! I am enjoying the distinctive sound of it.
