View Full Version : Looking for more info on a British Made Banjolin

Aug-21-2009, 3:07pm
I've been told this is a banjo mandolin made for mandolin orchestras but that's about all I know - and that it's British made. Anyone have more information about this instrument - manufacturer, time period, etc? Thanks!!

I believe the crouching lion with "British Made" under it is a trademark of George S Houghton and Sons. That is what looks to be on the head stock. Sometimes marked GSH&S. Made in Birmingham from 1880's to 1960's, then moved to London to be associated with Dallas banjos.
