Hey all, quick question, granted this may be beyond my ability but I'm definitely curious. What the hack are the tiny little notes and how do you play them? I'm looking at O Solo Mio.
I would also like to know if anyone would record the first song in the book and send me a copy. I will pay, I just think it would be easier to learn if I could hear it played as it was written. Thanks all John

I'm in the office without access to the text. I'm guessing you are seeing grace notes. They are often plucked on a mandolin and receive some fraction of the duration given to the note they are modifying. They tended to mean different things in different eras (they were regarded very differently when accompaniment was still improvised from a bass line). A google search for "grace note" might turn up something useful; I've never tried but would be interested in what you find.

Thanks Eugene, I'm on vacation this week. Finishing my basement. Plenty of break time to play and thought this would be a good time to learn something knew. The term will help. I had no idea what they were called. Thanks John http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

here are two links I found. The second looks interesting but wouldn't work with my browser. John
