yes I quite like it, it is a nice mandolin for the kind of money I payed for it , it was actually a demo model that the salesman took to festivals and tradeshows, so it was fingered and there is a smal scratch on it
I was able to buy it for 450 euro, bought a case and a mel bay book with it, at a total of 590 euro s, he gave me several picks to try , and a packet of mandolin strings for free

That's awesome. I'm thinking about what to buy for my first (real) mandolin and the KM-505 is right at the top of my list. I really like the finish on it too. Thanks for posting these pictures of it!

I have a 505, and I was surprised at how good it is. I've been playing mandolin for 25+ years, and have had several high end mandolins, but over the past couple of years, had to sell the Givens and Gibson mandolins due to hard economic times. I bought the 505 because it seemed like the best sub-$500 deal out there. Last week, I was playing at the local farmer's market with a guitarist and a fiddler, and I had to restrain myself from drowning them out!

thats really cool john:grin:
in fact at the festivals I have recently visited, many experienced mandolin players really like my 505
and were surprised by it s quality:)

I don t have a comparison, I only started playing a week ago, but I don know I find it a very nice instrument ( and I love maple, my guitar has a maple back and sides)

Wow -- that's a pretty mandolin, and I've read nice things about this model here, so you should be pretty happy with it. :)

I read some good things about the Kentucky 505. It shure looks good. If you come to Odoorn on the 14th of June, you could bring your mandolin. There will be many musicians to jam with and it will be a beautiful place to jam, picking in the pines.... :mandosmiley:
